- 1 heaping tablespoon(s) mustard
- 4.7 tablespoon(s) olive oil
- 1 teaspoon(s) dried oregano
- 1 garlic clove
- lemon juice, from 2 lemons
- lemon zest, from 2 lemons
- 0.63 cups (5.3 oz) water
- salt
- pepper
For the burger patties
- 1.1 lbs ground beef
- 1.1 lbs ground pork
- 1 onion
- 1 clove(s) of garlic
- 5.4 tablespoon(s) olive oil
- 1 egg, medium
- 1.25 cups bread crumbs
- ½ bunch parsley, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoon(s) mint, fresh, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon(s) oregano, dried
- 0.41 cups strained yogurt
- salt
- pepper
Let's Start Cooking

- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and set it to convection.
- Peel the potatoes, cut them into wedges, and transfer them to a 12x16 inch baking pan (a standard half sheet pan).
- In a bowl, combine the mustard, olive oil, oregano, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Crush the garlic clove with the side of a knife, add it to the bowl, and whisk everything together. Season with salt and pepper, and whisk one more time.
- Pour the marinade over the potatoes and mix them well with a spoon to coat them evenly.
- Pour the water around the edges of the pan, then cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil.
- Place the pan in the oven and bake the potatoes for 45-50 minutes. (You will add the burger patties on top of the potatoes after the first 50 minutes of baking, so start preparing the burgers about 20 minutes into the potatoes’ baking time.)
Preparing the Burgers
- Place a frying pan over medium heat. Finely chop the onion and garlic, and set them aside. Add about 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the pan, then add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté them for 5-10 minutes until they are tender and a nice golden color. Remove the pan from the heat and set it aside to cool for 5-10 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the 1.1 lbs of ground beef, 1.1 lbs of ground pork, the egg, 1.25 cups of breadcrumbs, finely chopped parsley, mint, oregano, the sautéed onion and garlic, the remaining 5.4 tablespoons of olive oil, 0.41 cups of strained yogurt, salt, and pepper.
- Mix the ingredients thoroughly with your hands. Shape the mixture into 8 patties and set them aside.
Final Steps
- Once the 45-50 minutes of baking for the potatoes is complete, carefully remove the pan from the oven, take off the aluminum foil, and mix the potatoes.
- Place the burger patties on top of the potatoes, then return the pan to the oven. Increase the oven’s temperature to 370°F (190°C) and continue to bake for another 45-50 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the oven and serve immediately with lemon slices, a sprinkle of pepper, and some fresh mint.
