This is Your Morning Beauty Routine Checklist

Written by Tonia ~ Category: Wellness ~ Read Time: 4 min.

Since I was a little girl, I always thought that we should take care of ourselves and try to focus on experiencing the finest. Probably, this is the reason why I was always into beauty and fashion.

Also, the more I entered adult life, the more I realized that we need to pay attention to grooming ourselves, our hair, and our skin; no matter its type, it needs constant attention and care, even if we don't have to deal with issues, like dryness or acne.

No matter how busy our daily schedules are or how much free time we have during the day, we always need some "me-time" in the morning to groom ourselves, take care of our well-being and properly nourish our skin and face.

Establishing a daily beauty routine that fit our skin needs and helps us keep our skin is very important not only for our appearance but also for our mental well-being.

When it comes to starting your day on the right foot, an effective morning beauty routine can be your secret weapon!

A good morning beauty routine not only helps you look your best but also sets a positive tone for the rest of your day.

However, what most of us do not take into consideration is that a morning beauty routine is not only limited to skin care; it is all about self-care and embracing our natural beauty. Beauty is not only about how our skin looks; it's about how our inner self feels.

That said, the perfect beauty routine is only 15 minutes away!

Rise and Shine

Start your morning beauty routine by greeting the day with a smile. Don't hit the snooze button; get out of bed fast and open the windows to get some fresh air and enjoy the sky. This will help your brain awake quickly and fill it with oxygen. Begin your day with a positive mindset, and remember that your morning beauty routine is not just about appearances but also about self-confidence and self-care.

Hydrate

After a good night's sleep, your body is naturally dehydrated. Begin your morning beauty routine by drinking a glass of water. If you want to "spice things up," add a couple of lemon slices to your water. Hydrating your body from the inside is the foundation of any skincare routine, as it helps flush out toxins and gives your skin a healthy, radiant glow. Hydration also will help your body and mind awake easily and you won't have to run to get caffeine immediately.

Cleansing

Now it's time to start your skincare. If you like getting into the shower the moment you wake up, then go for it first! If not, focus on your face skin. Gentle cleansing is the cornerstone of your morning beauty routine. Use a mild, hydrating cleanser to remove any impurities that may have built up on your skin overnight. Cleanse your face to create a clean canvas for your morning skincare routine. It's highly recommended and higly refreshing!

Exfoliation

Exfoliating your skin a couple of times a week is essential for maintaining a healthy complexion. It removes dead skin cells and promotes cell turnover, leaving your skin looking fresh and radiant. Choose a gentle exfoliant to avoid irritation or, if you are on a budget, just mix 1 tablespoon of olive oil or coconut oil with 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and gently massage your skin. You won't believe the softening of your skin! Be careful not to exfoliate your skin more than 2-3 times a week since it may cause irritation.

Toning

Toning is sometimes neglected in our skincare routine, but it is actually an important step towards a healthy and glowing face. Apply a toner to balance your skin's pH levels and prepare it to absorb your skincare products more effectively. Look for a toner that suits your skin type, whether it's hydrating, soothing, or pore-minimizing. There are plenty of choices out there.

Serum Application

Serums are packed with concentrated ingredients designed to target specific skin concerns. Whether you're looking to combat fine lines, dark spots, or acne, there's a serum for you. Apply a few drops of your chosen serum and gently pat it on your skin.

Moisturize

After you have washed, toned, and exfoliated your skin, it's time to give it the hydration it needs. Never skip moisturizing in your morning beauty routine. A good moisturizer keeps your skin hydrated and acts as a barrier against environmental pollutants. Use a lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizer that suits your skin type and is suitable for everyday use.

Sun Protection

Sunscreen is non-negotiable; especially if you live in places where the sun is shining all year long! For this reason, the best morning beauty routine includes SPF, no matter the season or the weather conditions. Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 to shield your skin from the harmful effects of UV rays.

Tip: If you want to skip makeup, you can use a tinted sunscreen, and… there you go: 2 in 1!

Eye & Lip Care

The delicate skin around our eyes needs special attention. Given the pollution and the atmosphere, as well as the irregular working hours or the deprivation of sleep, our eyes may suffer. Use an eye cream to address concerns like puffiness, dark circles, and fine lines. Gently pat the cream around your eye area to avoid stretching the skin.

Also, don't forget your lips in your morning beauty routine. Apply a lip balm to keep your lips soft, smooth, and protected from the elements. A lip balm could be the perfect base for your lipstick as well.

Makeup

This step is completely optional, and it depends on the rest of your day and how busy you are. If you choose to wear makeup, apply it after completing your skincare routine. Start with a primer to create a smooth base, then proceed with foundation, concealer, and any other makeup products you prefer. Do not overload your skin with much and only use products for your skin type.

Remember to establish a couple of "no makeup" days in order to let your skin breathe and rejuvenate naturally.

Take a few minutes to center yourself and reflect on your goals and intentions for the day. Whether it's through meditation, gratitude journaling, or deep breathing exercises, these self-care practices can improve your overall well-being.

This morning routine does not need more than 15 minutes and can help you start your day with a big smile!
