We can’t complain; 2024 was a good year —for shows and movies. We have some doubts about how good it was, considering the many significant events that shaped the year, but at least we could cheer up by watching some good TV. 

However, we hope 2025 will be a good year, in general, and that we all accomplish everything we need/wish/want.

As for the shows of 2025, we definitely set our resolutions on what we want to watch and what we are not and are sure which shows we can’t wait to watch. That said, our editors picked and explained their favorite show that is airing this year, or at least, is expected to air (fingers crossed!).

Severance

Where science fiction meets sociology, we have a fascinating combination. The first episode premiered on Apple TV+ on February 18, 2022, and got terrific reviews. And, of course, we are waiting for the second season more impatiently than ever—a dystopian thriller with lots of suspense and an excellent psychological illustration of each character. Mark Scout, an employee of the fictional corporation Lumon Industries, undergoes a "severance" procedure that surgically divides his work memories from his personal memories, creating two selves: the work self and the inner self. However, the conflict begins when Mark and his co-workers start questioning their work and the nature of their severance, and they uncover disturbing truths about Lumon and its practices. If you are up for some deep thinking about work and personal life and about how excessive work can help overcome difficulties in life, then this show is for you.

Ginny & Georgia

Ginny & Georgia is a wholesome, adorable dramedy that narrates the relationship of a young mother, Georgia, 30 years old, and her daughter, Ginny, 15 years old, who, after struggling with challenges for many years, decides to settle with her two kids (she has a little son as well but the show is focusing on the mon-daughter relationship) in calm and family-friendly New England so that she provides her kids a stable and peaceful life. However, her past catches up with her, threatening their new beginning, and it seems that Georgia is not as innocent as she appears to be, and the hidden secrets and truths are coming back to haunt her and challenge the family dynamics. If you are looking for a Gilmore Girls, small-town vibe show, but with a bit more energy and mystery, this is the one.

Only Murders in the Building

Surreal, funny, witty lines, and an amazing cast. Three strangers who happen to live in the same building are getting together to investigate a murder in the building. Then, their lives change in a way they couldn’t even imagine. Charles, Oliver, and Mabel not only investigate the murders but also record their findings in their own true crime podcast. However, as the investigation moves forward, they uncover a web of secrets and lies within the building's eccentric residents. Dark humor and unexpected situations are all over the place in this show, along with a lot of suspense. If you are a fan of crime investigation, then you already know the show!

Unfortunately, we don’t know the exact date of the show, but according to the USA Today report, Steve Martin mentioned that Season 5 would arrive in 2025, though the specific date remains unconfirmed. We definitely can’t wait to see what happens next!

Suits LA

If you were a fan of the most famous legal drama on Netflix, then you would want to see its spin-off. Suits were about a law firm in New York City, but now they are moving to the West Coast, and we can’t wait to see the hustle and bustle there. There is so much anticipation for this show, considering that Suits managed to keep their audience for up to 9 seasons. According to the buzz, “Suits: LA" is expected to continue the legal drama and high-stakes intrigue that made the original series a success, and we will be there to find out if it manages it.

The White Lotus

A dark comedy that follows the interconnected lives of wealthy guests and employees at exclusive resorts. Each season is set in a different location, exploring themes of wealth, privilege, class, and the complexities of human relationships. Sharp social commentary, witty dialogues, stellar performances, along with constant twists and sudden surprises; this show is a total binge-worthy masterpiece, and we can’t wait to see the next season, which is supposed to be airing this year.

Apple Cider Vinegar

An upcoming limited series supposed to air on Netflix on 2025 that follows wellness guru Belle Gibson and her friend Milla, who use their platforms to “cure” people but she takes it too far, fooling her followers into believing that she is diagnosed with cancer, keeping the world watching and hoping for her approach to her treatment will work, nothing can stop her, until her world comes crashing down around her. The series is inspired by the book The Woman Who Fooled the World, written by journalists Beau Donelly and Nick Toscano and is created by award-winning Australian writer Samantha Strauss, who was living in Melbourne during the peak of the real-life Gibson’s success. We love social media real stories and we anticipate that we will love this as well.
