Blake Lively vs Justin Baldoni

This is probably the most popular Hollywood tale —at least of the last 6 months. An awkward movie promotion feud erupted into a legal battle, with Blake Lively accusing Justin Baldoni of harassment and of launching a smear campaign to ruin her reputation. Then, Baldoni countersued, alleging defamation and extortion. Lively and Baldoni starred in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's popular novel "It Ends With Us." Baldoni was also the director of the film. Lively filed a legal complaint against Baldoni and others involved in the film, alleging that he created a sexually inappropriate atmosphere on set. She claimed this included verbal harassment and unwanted physical contact. Lively further alleged that after she raised these concerns, Baldoni and his team retaliated against her by trying to pressure her to drop her claims and by making false and defamatory statements about her. Baldoni responded by filing a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, who is also involved in the legal proceedings.

Both sides have made public statements about the case, with Lively emphasizing the importance of speaking out about harassment and Baldoni maintaining his innocence while his attorney is making public messages, videos, and statements to prove his innocence. 

The legal battle between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni is still unfolding. It's a complex situation with serious allegations on both sides. It will likely be some time before the courts reach a resolution. According to the latest updates, the trial is set to begin in March of 2026, but this story has already taken some glitter off Hollywood.

Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard

This high-profile defamation trial transcended Hollywood, becoming a global media spectacle. Mutual accusations of abuse and counter-accusations dominated headlines, showcasing the darker side of celebrity relationships and the immense pressure faced by public figures. The trial highlighted the complexities of domestic abuse cases and the challenges of navigating public scrutiny in the face of personal trauma. Depp and Heard met on the "The Rum Diary" set and were married from 2015 to 2016. Their relationship was turbulent, and Heard accused Depp of domestic abuse.

In 2018, Heard wrote an op-ed in The Washington Post discussing her experiences as a survivor of domestic violence. While she didn't name Depp, he sued her for defamation, claiming the op-ed damaged his career. Heard countersued Depp for libel over statements his lawyer made. The trial, held in Virginia in 2022, was a media circus. It was televised and heavily covered online, with shocking testimony, graphic evidence, and intense social media discussions. Both Depp and Heard accused each other of physical and verbal abuse. Depp denied ever abusing Heard, while Heard claimed Depp was abusive towards her, particularly when under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

The jury found both Depp and Heard liable for defamation, but Depp was awarded significantly more in damages than Heard. Both Depp and Heard's careers have been affected by the trial. Depp has since returned to acting, while Heard's future in the industry remains uncertain, and for now, she resides in Spain, away from the spotlight.

Sarah Jessica Parker vs Kim Cattrall

When we think about friendship, especially us millennials, one of the most popular screen friendships comes to mind: the four Sex and the City women, Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte, who have been the symbol of the “friends forever” motto that ruled our high school friendships. However, things in real life weren’t that dreamy.

Actually, it was the opposite. The "Sex and the City" stars' feud has been a long-running and highly broadcasted affair that has been more publicized than the actual show and the subsequent movies. While all four women presented a united front publicly, rumors of tension between the women, particularly Parker and Cattrall, began to surface early on. One of the major points of contention reportedly stemmed from salary differences. As the lead and executive producer, Parker was paid more than the other actors. This allegedly caused resentment, especially from Cattrall.

It's also been suggested that personality differences played a role. Parker was seen as more reserved and professional, while Cattrall was considered more outspoken and independent.  In a 2017 interview with Piers Morgan, Cattrall dropped a bombshell, stating that she and Parker were "never friends" but rather "colleagues," and she described their relationship as "toxic." After the death of Cattrall's brother, Parker offered her condolences publicly. Cattrall responded with a scathing Instagram post, accusing Parker of being a "hypocrite" and telling her to stop "exploiting our tragedy." Cattrall's refusal to participate in the "And Just Like That..." revival further intensified the conflict, exposing the strained dynamics within the iconic franchise.

However, while Kim Cattrall has been quite vocal about the feud, Sarah Jessica Parker has generally been more reserved in her comments. In a 2018 interview with Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live," Parker said she was "heartbroken" and "very upset" by Cattrall's 2017 interview where she stated they were never friends. Will those two ever talk again? Nobody knows, but things are not looking good.

Angelina Jolie vs Brad Pitt 

The Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie divorce is one of Hollywood's most high-profile and acrimonious splits. Pitt and Jolie's relationship began on the set of their 2005 film "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," amidst intense media scrutiny due to Pitt's then-marriage to Jennifer Aniston. Then we passed into the “Brangelina” era; the couple quickly became a global phenomenon, known for their humanitarian work, large family (including six children, three of whom were adopted), and glamorous lifestyle.

And then, after more than a decade of happy family vibes, here comes the split. Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016, citing irreconcilable differences. The separation was reportedly triggered by an incident on a private plane involving their children. Jolie accused Pitt of physical and verbal abuse towards their children during the flight. The FBI and the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services investigated the allegations, but no charges were filed against Pitt. The divorce proceedings became a messy and protracted legal battle, primarily focused on the custody of their children and finances. A major point of contention was their co-owned French winery, Château Miraval.

Jolie sold her stake in the winery to a Russian businessman, which Pitt contested, leading to further lawsuits and accusations. However, after an 8-year intense legal fighting, they finally reached a settlement right before we entered 2025.
