And for some history, the name "November" originates from the Latin word "novem," meaning "nine." This is because November was the ninth month of the year in the ancient Roman calendar. When the Julian and Gregorian calendars were introduced, adding January and February to the beginning of the year, November retained its original name despite now being the eleventh month.
