Between career climbs, family commitments, and personal pursuits, our days often feel gloriously full. Yet, amidst this beautiful chaos, something precious can sometimes get nudged to the periphery: our friendships. These connections, vital threads in our lives, require tending, especially when time feels like a rapidly dwindling resource.\n\nIt’s easy to let weeks slip into months with little more than a fleeting text exchange. The intention to connect is always there, a warm ember glowing within, but the demands of daily life can feel like a relentless downpour, threatening to extinguish it entirely. However, nurturing these bonds and keeping in touch with friends is an essential element of a well-lived and joyful existence. Our friends offer a unique form of support, understanding, and connection that enriches our lives in ways no other relationship can. They are our chosen family, the ones who celebrate our triumphs and offer solace during setbacks. So, how do we actively cultivate these vital connections amidst the beautiful chaos of a busy life, and how do we maintain our friendships when things get overwhelming?\n\n## Intentionality: The Cornerstone of Connection\n\nThe first step is recognizing that maintaining friendships in a busy life requires conscious effort. And to do that doesn’t require grand gestures as much as consistent, thoughtful actions. Think of your friendships as you would any other important commitment – your career, your health, your [hobbies](https://www.workingal.com/articles/hobby-and-personality). They deserve a place on your mental (and sometimes literal) [to-do list](https://www.workingal.com/articles/your-monthly-to-do-list-with-our-favorite-quotes).\n\n### Schedule it\n\nJust as you [block out time for meetings or appointments](https://www.workingal.com/articles/how-to-manage-your-time-effectively), consider scheduling brief check-ins with friends. This could be a 15-minute phone call during your commute, a [quick coffee](https://www.workingal.com/articles/is-caffeine-good-for-our-health) before work, or even setting a recurring monthly brunch. Putting it in your calendar makes it more likely to happen.\n\n### Be present in the small moments\n\n![friends posing for a photo to stengthen their friendship](https://assets.workingal.com/how_to_maintain_your_friendships_18662e08e4.webp)\n\nIt's not always about carving out large chunks of time. Sometimes, a genuine, focused conversation during a brief encounter can be incredibly meaningful. Put away your phone, make eye contact, and truly listen when you connect with a friend, even if it's just for a few minutes. This way you deepen your relationship with your friends and show them how much they matter.\n\n### Leverage technology thoughtfully\n\nWhile [endless scrolling](https://www.workingal.com/articles/digital-detox) can be a time sink, technology can also be a powerful tool for staying connected. A quick voice note, a thoughtful article shared, or a funny meme sent with a personal message can let your friends know you’re thinking of them, even when you can’t connect in person.\n\n### Making the Most of Existing Routines\n\nInstead of viewing socializing as an additional task, consider weaving it into your existing routines. This can make connecting feel less like an obligation and more like a natural part of your week.\n\n#### Combine activities\n\nAre you a regular at the local [yoga](https://www.workingal.com/articles/yoga-menstrual-discomfort) studio? Invite a friend to join you. Do you walk your dog in the park every evening? See if a friend is free to join you for a stroll. Merging your existing activities with social time is an efficient way to connect.\n\n#### Turn errands into opportunities\n\nNeed to pick up groceries or visit the farmers' market? See if a friend needs to do the same and make it a joint outing. Even mundane tasks can become enjoyable when shared.\n\n#### Communicate your availability\n\nLet your friends know your general schedule and when you might have pockets of free time. This makes it easier for them to suggest meetups that work for both of you.\n\n### Quality Over Quantity: The Essence of Meaningful Connection\n\nIn a busy life, the quality of your interactions often matters more than the frequency. A deep, meaningful conversation once a month can be more fulfilling than several rushed, superficial exchanges.\n\n#### Be a good listener\n\nWhen you do connect with a friend, make a conscious effort to truly listen to what they have to say. Ask follow-up questions, show genuine interest in their life, and offer support when needed.\n\n#### Share authentically\n\nOpen up and share aspects of your own life, both the joys and the challenges. Vulnerability fosters deeper connection and strengthens the bond of [friendship](https://www.workingal.com/articles/10-red-flags-that-your-friendship-is-over).\n\n#### Prioritize shared experiences\n\n![friends posing for a photo to bond their friendship](https://assets.workingal.com/how_to_maintain_your_friendships_0ad10a7d9a.webp)\n\nWhile catching up over coffee is lovely, shared experiences create lasting memories and strengthen bonds. Consider attending a local event together, trying a new restaurant, or going for a hike on a nearby trail.\n\nFriendships, like life, have their own seasons. There will be times when you can dedicate more time and energy to your friendships, and other times when life’s demands pull you in different directions. Understanding this ebb and flow is necessary for maintaining realistic expectations.\n\nThis is why it is important to communicate openly about your availability. If you’re going through a particularly busy period, let your friends know. A simple message explaining your limited availability can prevent misunderstandings and reassure them that you still value the friendship.\n\nThis implies, of course, being understanding of your friends’ seasons. Just as your [life has busy periods](https://www.workingal.com/articles/don-t-be-busy-be-productive), so do theirs. Be patient and understanding if a friend is less available for a while. Trust that the connection will remain strong until you can reconnect more fully. Acknowledge and appreciate the effort your friends make to stay connected, even if it’s just a quick text or a like on social media. These small gestures show that you value the relationship.\n\nInvesting time and effort in your friendships is not a drain on our busy lives but, on the contrary, it is an [investment in our overall well-being](https://www.workingal.com/articles/what-is-the-best-investment-you-can-make). The laughter shared, the support offered, and the simple act of knowing someone cares deeply enriches our lives in immeasurable ways. By being intentional, integrating connection into our [routines](https://www.workingal.com/articles/30-mistakes-with-your-skincare-routine), prioritizing quality over quantity, and understanding the natural flow of life, we can ensure that these vital bonds not only survive but thrive amidst the beautiful complexity of our busy lives. When asked to say a bit more about yourself, you will spontaneously answer the question of what you do for a living. These subtle interactions with others make it clear how important our work is not only for us but also for the rest of the world. Our very society has been created in such a way that our primary goal since our childhood is to prepare ourselves to go out into the adult world as successful professionals and land a job.\n\nThe one who doesn't want to work simultaneously is usually considered the scapegoat for their environment. And this could make sense, we would say, since we wonder what they do with their life, how they make ends meet, etc. Being an active part of the workforce guarantees our survival, our chances of getting entertained and enjoying the little happy moments in life, and ensures that we have everything else that is necessary for our well-being, in general.\n\n### We all understand that work is of great importance to our society and is part of our lives\n\nBut what effect does it have on our personality? Or do we choose our profession based on our personality? Whatever the answer, the only thing that is certain is that work determines our lives in one way or another. Right or wrong... it happens. There are professions where the personality traits of the professional play a decisive role in their modus operandi at work. Via their profession, they project their personality in some way to achieve their desired results (e.g., teachers, lawyers, and many more). But there are also professions, especially the more technical ones, where one’s personality is not in the spotlight.\n\nNevertheless, most professionals are identified in one way or another by their profession. A very typical example is, of course, the earnings and the social status we receive. It is common for those with a high income to automatically have social prestige, since society often considers people with good salaries to be respected.\n\n## In that case, what do you admire most?\n\nThe salary or the person? And that's where the question comes in... are we really our profession? Should our profession define us? And if yes, to what extent?\n\nOne trap we all fall into is that we associate our entire identity with our professional status. And it’s undeniable that in some professions, personality is the means actually to do the job.\n\n### But it is merely the means, not the result or the goal\n\n![rocks creating a balance ](https://assets.workingal.com/can_our_job_define_us_85a9b56fac.webp)\n\nOur work, especially when we do something we love, is a massive part of our lives. But how much will it affect us outside working hours? Will we bring work home? For example, does my working as a teacher mean that I have to be a \"teacher\" and treat my friends that way outside of work? I work on teaching every day, and certainly my personality affects my work, but that's about it. I should not be defined by that alone. I agree with the view that _your profession can reveal things about you, but it doesn't give the whole picture._\n\n## You're not just your profession\n\nMost people think they can tell who someone is by their profession. And it is partly true. But what about those who do a job out of necessity? How are they defined? So does the profession fully define our personality? Does how you do your job matter more than what job you do?\n\nThis trap that we all fall into, of defining ourselves by our work, becomes even clearer when we consider the cases of people who have lost their jobs and lost themselves along with them. When someone build their life around their job and all they think about is this and cannot function without it, if they lose their job (sh\\*t happens, the economy is not quite blooming yet), then they lose the meaning of life. I won’t get into the economic challenges that come with a job loss, which are clearly very important. I'm talking about the fact that if one loses their job, they lose their perception of themselves. They feel inadequate, and here come the other issues. Many people, unfortunately, experience severe psychological challenges when they lose their jobs. And sometimes it's tough to recover from that.\n\nFounding the whole meaning of your life on your work is not the same as founding the meaning of your work.\n\n### Is it important?\n\nOf course it is. Will it keep you busy after hours? Many times. Does it have to be the only thing that gives your life meaning? No. Everyone needs to find meaning in life beyond work. Have a personal goal and have time with yourself. This meaning is enough to help us improve professionally, set high personal and family goals, etc. All this belongs to a cycle where the focus is not on our work but on ourselves. Our work is just an important part of this cycle.\n\nTo be fulfilled, there [must be a balance](https://www.workingal.com/articles/how-to-maintain-your-work-life-balance) between our professional and personal lives.\n\nWork is a very important factor in our personal happiness and development. It is through work that we complete our personality, and it indeed determines our lives to a great extent. After all, we understand its importance if we think about the hours we spend on it every day.\n\nBut... our work gives us meaning in life, it is not THE meaning of life. Our work is a part of ourselves, not our whole selves. You're not just your job. Even though I have a vague insight into my resolutions each New Year, the moment when I take them seriously is usually springtime. It’s probably the sun, in combination with the warmer weather, that makes me feel ready for renewal and rejuvenation.\n\nThese days, the air is lighter, the days are longer, and a sense of renewal hangs in the breeze. Spring has arrived, and with it comes the irresistible urge to declutter our homes and embrace a fresh start. But what if we extended this invigorating ritual beyond our closets and home office? This season, let’s turn our attention to a space that occupies a significant portion of our lives: _our careers_.\n\nJust like a thorough home cleaning revitalizes our living spaces, a deliberate career refresh can clear away stagnation, boost productivity, and develop exciting new growth. Think of it as Marie Kondo-ing your professional life—keeping what sparks joy and serves your ambitions and gracefully letting go of what no longer fits. Don’t worry; we're not talking about drastic, overnight changes. This career spring clean is more about a thoughtful process of assessment, decluttering, and nurturing that will leave you feeling lighter, more focused, and ready to bloom in your professional journey.\n\n# Declutter your professional landscape\n\n![career spring clean](https://assets.workingal.com/career_spring_clean_1824367b2c.webp)\n\nOur careers, like our homes, can accumulate clutter over time—mine, for sure. But this clutter isn't always tangible; it can manifest as time-wasting habits, mental baggage, or a disorganized approach to our work. So, in order to achieve a more streamlined and productive professional life, we should tackle these layers. How? Let’s see.\n\n## Tidy your time & tasks\n\nHow often do you feel like you’re constantly busy [but not truly productive](https://www.workingal.com/articles/don-t-be-busy-be-productive)? The first step in a career spring clean is to examine how you spend your most valuable resource: [time](https://www.workingal.com/articles/how-to-manage-your-time-effectively). Try tracking your activities for a week, even the seemingly small ones. You might be surprised to discover pockets of time being swallowed by [social media scrolling](https://www.workingal.com/articles/digital-detox), unnecessary meetings, or tasks that could be delegated or even eliminated.\n\nOnce you have a clearer picture, implement strategies for ruthless prioritization. Familiarize yourself with tools like the [Eisenhower Matrix](https://www.workingal.com/articles/the-game-changing-technique-to-boost-your-productivity), which categorizes tasks based on urgency and importance. Learn to distinguish between what truly needs your immediate attention and what can be scheduled, delegated, or dropped altogether. Mastering the [art of saying “no”](https://www.workingal.com/articles/5-things-you-need-to-say-no-to-to-be-more-productive) to commitments that don’t align with your goals is also crucial for reclaiming your time and energy.\n\n### Digital clutter can be just as overwhelming\n\nTake time to organize your email inbox, create clear folder structures for your digital files, and explore project management tools that can streamline your workflow. Implement designated “focus blocks” where you turn off notifications and dedicate your attention to high-priority tasks. A [digital detox](https://www.workingal.com/articles/digital-detox), even for short periods, can significantly reduce distractions and improve concentration.\n\n## Clear out mental clutter\n\nOur minds can become cluttered with limiting beliefs, workplace stress, and lingering resentments. A career spring clean requires us to address this internal landscape. Take some time for self-reflection. What negative self-talk patterns do you recognize? What beliefs about your abilities or career trajectory might be holding you back? Challenging these limiting beliefs and consciously replacing them with more positive and empowering affirmations can be a transformative experience.\n\n[Workplace stress](https://www.workingal.com/articles/stress-management-these-5-techniques) is often unavoidable, but learning healthy coping mechanisms is essential. Explore mindfulness techniques, deep breathing exercises, or setting clear boundaries between work and personal life. It’s also important to address any lingering resentment towards past workplace frustrations or difficult colleagues. Holding onto these negative emotions can drain your energy and hinder your progress. Consider strategies for healthy communication, forgiveness (for yourself and others), and focusing on moving forward.\n\n## Organize your physical workspace (even if remote)\n\nWhether you work in an office or a dedicated home setup, your physical environment has a significant impact on your [focus and productivity](https://www.workingal.com/articles/white-noise-for-calm-and-focus). A cluttered desk can lead to a cluttered mind. Take the time to physically declutter your workspace, organize files, discard unnecessary items, and ensure everything you need is easily accessible.\n\nFor those working remotely, the concept of a workspace may be more fluid, but the principle remains the same. Organize your digital desktop, ensure your equipment is functioning smoothly, and create a designated area that helps you mentally transition into work mode. Even adding a few personal touches, like a plant or inspiring artwork, can create a more positive and motivating environment.\n\n# New growth & opportunities\n\nOnce you’ve decluttered your professional landscape, you’ll create space for new growth and exciting opportunities to flourish. This involves actively nurturing your skills, expanding your network, and strategically planning for your future.\n\n## Refresh your skills & knowledge\n\nThe professional landscape is constantly evolving, making continuous learning a necessity. Take this spring cleaning opportunity to assess your current skill set and identify any gaps that might be [hindering your progress](https://www.workingal.com/articles/10-reasons-that-block-your-career-progress) or preventing you from pursuing your career goals. Research industry trends and identify areas where upskilling or acquiring new knowledge would be beneficial.\n\nExplore various learning opportunities, including [online courses](https://www.workingal.com/articles/5-free-coursera-courses-to-boost-your-career), workshops, industry conferences, and mentorship programs. Don’t underestimate the value of learning on the job by taking on new challenges or volunteering for projects outside your comfort zone. Cultivating a mindset of curiosity and a commitment to lifelong learning will keep your career vibrant and relevant.\n\n## Nurture your network\n\nYour professional network is a valuable asset that can provide support, guidance, and new opportunities. This spring, make a conscious effort to reconnect with past colleagues, mentors, and industry connections. Reach out with a genuine interest in their current endeavors and share your own updates.\n\nAttend networking events, whether virtual or in-person, with the intention of building meaningful connections rather than simply collecting business cards. Leverage professional social media platforms -time to refresh your LinkedIn page- to engage with your industry, share your expertise, and connect with individuals whose work you admire. Remember that networking is a two-way street; be proactive in offering support and assistance to others in your network.\n\n## Plant seeds for future growth\n\n![career spring clean](https://assets.workingal.com/career_spring_clean_2929fce49b.webp)\n\nA career spring clean does not only target the present; it’s also about strategically planning for the future. Revisit your short-term and long-term career goals. Are they still aligned with your aspirations? Are there any adjustments you need to make?\n\nNow is an excellent time to update your resume and online professional profiles, ensuring they accurately reflect your current skills, experience, and career objectives—research potential new opportunities within and outside your current organization. Don’t be afraid to explore different paths or roles that pique your interest. Seek feedback from your supervisor or trusted colleagues on your performance and areas for development. This proactive approach will ensure you’re well-positioned to seize new opportunities as they arise.\n\n# Maintain your career garden\n\nA career spring clean isn’t a one-day task; it’s instead an ongoing process of maintenance and cultivation. Just as a garden requires regular tending to thrive, your career needs consistent attention to ensure continued growth and prevent the accumulation of new clutter.\n\nSchedule regular check-ins with yourself to review your progress, reassess your goals, and identify any areas where you might need to declutter or adjust your approach. Embrace flexibility and recognize that career paths can evolve in unexpected ways. Be open to new possibilities and be willing to adapt your plans as needed.","career-spring-clean","spring clean, career spring clean, how to spring clean your career goals, spring clean your is When You Should Wake Up Every Day if You Want To Be Happier","### _Who would say that our happiness can be hidden in our alarm clock?_\n***\nThe search for happiness is a universal pursuit, and science suggests that our daily routine, especially the wake-up time, plays a decisive role in our [overall well-being](https://www.workingal.com/categories/wellness-and-nutrition).\n\nWhile a fulfilling life is a mix of different factors, the simple act of waking up at the _“right”_ time could change the data for those seeking greater joy and longevity.\n\n## Synchronizing with the rhythm of nature for increased wellbeing\n\n[Research published](https://thinkstewartville.com/2025/02/12/heres-the-time-you-should-get-up-every-morning-to-be-happier-in-life-according-to-science/#:~:text=Research%20published%20in%20Chronobiology%20International,production%2C%20and%20potentially%20extend%20lifespan.) in Chronobiology International highlights the benefits of aligning our sleep patterns with the natural solar cycle. This practice, deeply rooted in chronobiology, has been shown to improve sleep quality, boost **endorphin** production, and potentially extend lifespan.\n\nThis practice, which has deep roots in chronobiology, has been shown to improve [sleep quality](https://www.workingal.com/articles/5-reasons-why-good-sleep-is-important-for-your-physical-and-mental-health), enhance endorphin production, and potentially prolong **life expectancy**.\n\nThe study's findings are coordinated with the lifestyle of some cultures known for **longevity**, such as the Japanese. In Japan, people often adjust their waking up time every season to match the hours of the day. During the winter months, waking up at 7 am is usual, while during the summer months, they wake up earlier, between 5 and 6 am. This flexibility allows them to maximize exposure to natural light, which is vital to regulating our **circadian rhythm** and preserving a youthful appearance and vitality. This way, we can prepare ourselves for a day full of energy and positivity.\n\n## Utilizing the morning for personal development\n\n![wake up early in the morning](https://assets.workingal.com/wake_up_early_in_the_morning_ed4219552e.jpg)\n\nThose who wake up early often have extra time to engage in activities that promote **well-being** and [success](https://www.workingal.com/articles/habits-of-successful-women). Many people who consistently reach their goals attribute their success to their morning habits.\n\nIn Japan, it is common for people to include mild and mindful practices in their morning routine. [Yoga, meditation](https://www.workingal.com/articles/5-yoga-poses-for-immediate-stress-relief), and reading are popular options that help cultivate a sense of stillness and [concentration](https://www.workingal.com/articles/7-ways-to-improve-concentration-in-everything-you-do) before they start their busy and demanding day. These activities promote mental clarity, contribute to emotional balance, and [reduce stress](https://www.workingal.com/articles/how-to-reduce-stress-naturally). By waking up earlier, we create a sense of calmness before the bustle of everyday life begins.\n\n# The power of segmented sleep and rest strategy\n\nInterestingly, the concept of stable eight-hour sleep is relatively modern. Historical evidence and current practices in some cultures suggest that segmental sleep patterns can be beneficial. In her book [“Le Sommeil Retrouvé,” sleep expert Caroline Rome](https://www.fnac.com/a20672910/Caroline-Rome-Le-sommeil-retrouve-tout-se-joue-sur-24-heures) analyses the Japanese approach to fractional sleep. The book emphasizes that good sleep starts with a mindful **24-hour approach**, not just the hours before bed. Rome offers a holistic method combining sophrology techniques with lifestyle advice.\n\nThis method includes sleeping from around 9 am to midnight, waking up for a period of relaxation or meditation, and then going back to sleep from 2 am to 5 am. Despite the total sleep time of about six hours, practitioners report feeling refreshed and maintaining steady energy levels throughout the day.\n\n### The idea of rest strategy extends beyond night sleep. \n\nThe Japanese practice of _“Inemuri,”_ or “sleep while we are present,” involves short periods of sleep during the day.\n\nUnlike some Western cultures, where sleep can be considered sluggish, in Japan, it is often considered a sign of labor —proof that someone has worked to exhaustion. For instance, some progressive-minded companies in Japan have even made **sleep compulsory**, recognizing its potential to boost [workers’ productivity](https://www.workingal.com/articles/strategic-productivity-how-to-work-smart-not-hard) and well-being.\n\n![wake up early in the morning](https://assets.workingal.com/wake_up_early_in_the_morning_5ae0ebe9fa.jpg)\n\nThis approach is in line with research that shows that short periods of sleep can boost [cognitive function](https://www.workingal.com/articles/7-ways-to-improve-concentration-in-everything-you-do) and creativity, making it a valuable tool for those who wish to develop the habits of highly successful individuals.\n\n## Adjust the awakening routine for happiness and success\n\nAlthough the ideal wake-up time may vary depending on individual conditions and geographic location, the principle of alignment with the natural light cycles remains constant. The name itself is equivalent to strength, grace, and a relentless commitment to the human spirit. Poet, memoirist, activist, educator –Angelou defied categorization, embodying a multifaceted brilliance that touched millions across the globe. Her remarkable life and lasting impact continue to inspire and empower people all around the world.\n\nBorn Marguerite Annie Johnson on April 4, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri, Angelou's early life was marked by **trauma** and racial prejudice.  Her childhood experiences profoundly shaped her perspective and fueled her lifelong fight against **injustice**. She faced significant trauma in her early life, including racial discrimination, the pain of abandonment, and a period of selective mutism. Yet, she rose above these challenges and found her voice through literature and activism. Her willingness to share her **struggles** openly in her autobiographies, particularly in _I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings_, resonated deeply with readers who had faced their own hardships and found this book as a refuge. She demonstrated that it is possible not only to survive but to thrive in the face of **adversity**.\n\nMaya Angelou found comfort and a voice through literature and the power of language. She was a master of language. Her writing, both in her memoirs and poetry, is characterized by its lyrical beauty, emotional honesty, and profound insights into the human condition. She had a unique ability to capture the essence of human experiences, particularly those of **Black women**, with grace and power. Her words have the ability to uplift, comfort, challenge, and inspire. Poems like _\"Still I Rise\"_ and _\"Phenomenal Woman\"_ have become anthems of empowerment, celebrating resilience, self-acceptance, and the strength of the **human spirit**.   \n\n![maya angelou inspirational](https://assets.workingal.com/maya_angelou_inspirational_5b099577e7.jpg)\n\nAngelou's most celebrated work, _I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings_ (1969), is a powerful coming-of-age memoir that chronicles her childhood in the Jim Crow South.  It is a searingly honest and profoundly moving narrative of racial discrimination, personal struggles, and the resilience of humans. The book broke ground for its candid portrayal of the **Black female experience** and instantly became a classic of American literature.  As Claudia Tate notes in [Black Women Writers at Work](https://www.amazon.com/Black-Women-Writers-at-Work/dp/1642598402), _\"Angelou's autobiography... established her as a major voice in contemporary literature.\"_ \n\nBeyond Caged Bird, Angelou gifted the world with a further six autobiographical volumes, each exploring different facets of her rich and **complex** life.  These works, including Gather Together in My Name and The Heart of a Woman, offer intimate glimpses into her journey of self-discovery, her involvement in the **Civil Rights Movement**, and her experiences as a woman navigating a world often hostile to her existence.\n\nAngelou's literary contributions extended far beyond her memoirs.  She was a gifted poet whose works are celebrated for their powerful imagery, rhythmic cadence, and unwavering message of hope and resilience. Some of her famous poems include not only “Phenomenal Woman,” “Still I Rise,” but also _“On the Pulse of Morning,”_ which she recited at **President Bill Clinton**’s inauguration in 1993 and which earned her in 1994 a Grammy Award in the \"Best Spoken Word\" category. These poems have become anthems of **empowerment** for generations. As critic Harold Bloom observed, Angelou's poetry _\"possesses an immediate and enduring emotional impact.\"_ \n\n![maya angelou inspirational](https://assets.workingal.com/maya_angelou_inspirational_7fc3f281ee.jpg)\n\nBeyond her writing, Angelou was a tireless advocate for **social justice and equality**. She worked alongside prominent Civil Rights leaders like **Martin Luther King Jr.** and Malcolm X, lending her voice and influence to the fight against _racial discrimination_.  Her commitment to activism was deeply intertwined with her writing, both serving as vehicles for social change and personal healing. She inspired others to speak out against injustice and to strive for a more **equitable** world. Her emphasis on self-love and acceptance was significant for Black women and girls who had been marginalized and oppressed. She encouraged everyone to embrace their unique qualities and find strength in their own identities.   \n\nAngelou’s influence extended into the classroom as well. She held a lifetime appointment as the [Reynolds Professor of American Studies](https://mayaangelou.wfu.edu/story/) at Wake Forest University, where she inspired countless students with her wisdom and passion for learning.  She believed in the transformative power of education and dedicated herself to nurturing the next generation of thinkers and leaders. As Wake Forest President Nathan Hatch said, _“She devoted her life at Wake Forest to creating a love of language and a keen awareness of the power of literature and learning, and generations of Wake Forest students have lived richer lives for her teaching and guidance.”_\n\nMaya Angelou’s legacy is one of courage, resilience, and the transformative power of words.  She faced adversity with uncompromising strength and used her voice to challenge injustice, inspire hope, and celebrate the beauty of the human spirit.  Her work continues to resonate with readers around the world, reminding us of our own capacity for **resilience** and the importance of speaking our truths. As Oprah Winfrey eloquently stated, _\"Maya Angelou is... a national treasure whose life and words have inspired us all.\"_ \n\nAngelou lived a life of purpose, dedicated to _making a difference in the world_. She was not only a writer and activist but also an educator and an inspirational figure. She approached all her endeavors with passion, compassion, and a deep **commitment** to human dignity. Her life serves as an example of how to live a meaningful life, filled with purpose and a desire to contribute to something larger than oneself. Her words remain a beacon of light and guide us towards a more just and compassionate world. This is why we celebrate her life, her work, and the enduring legacy of a truly phenomenal woman.\n\n## Maya Angelou’s Famous Quotes\n\n![maya angelou inspirational](https://assets.workingal.com/maya_angelou_inspirational_1ec55baa6c.jpg)\n\n- “A great soul serves everyone all the time. We promote women's rights, sometimes rooting for women who are not part of Western privilege and constantly praise our achievements and the progress we have made as a society to provide women with a safe place to live with dignity and fulfillment. Movements like _#metoo_ have added to this pride, and we tend to believe that safety doesn’t concern us —it’s a problem left for the Eastern World. Yet, a sobering truth persists: women, even in these seemingly enlightened societies, face significant **safety concerns**. While strides have been made, the pervasive issue of violence against women remains a stark reality, and our safety is not a given _—it’s leaning toward an illusion._\n\nThe Statistics Never Lie\n------------------------\n\nThe optimists and the ones who don’t care to pay any attention because the matter is irrelevant to them would argue that it’s almost comic to talk about safety in the **Western World** where women have all those rights, and we should see what happens on the other side, aka the East. However, the statistics don’t follow this narrative and are more than encouraging. \n\n**Sexual Assault:** A surprising number of women experience sexual assault in their lifetimes. While reporting rates vary, it's clear that many incidents go unreported due to fear, shame, or a lack of faith in the justice system and law enforcement. Victims may worry about being blamed, disbelieved, or re-traumatized by the legal process, and they just live with it. These barriers to reporting often leave perpetrators unaccountable and perpetuate a cycle of violence. \n\n* 1 in 5 women in the U.S. has been the victim of rape.\n \n* Most sexual assaults are committed by someone the victim knows.\n \n* About 1 in 6 women in the U.S. has been stalked at some point in her life.\n \n* The same EU study found that 11% of women in the EU had experienced sexual violence in the past 12 months.\n \n\n**Domestic Violence:** Domestic violence, a pervasive issue that disproportionately affects women, encompasses a range of abusive behaviors, including physical, emotional, and psychological violence. This insidious cycle of abuse can leave victims feeling trapped, isolated, and powerless. Physical abuse may involve hitting, slapping, kicking, or other forms of physical harm. Emotional abuse, on the other hand, involves tactics such as gaslighting, manipulation, and constant criticism aimed at undermining the victim's self-esteem and sense of reality. Psychological abuse may include intimidation, threats, and controlling behaviors, designed to instill fear and dependence. The cycle of abuse often escalates over time, with periods of tension, violence, and a brief period of calm or honeymoon phase, followed by a return to tension and violence. This pattern can make it difficult for victims to recognize the abusive nature of the relationship and seek help, and they may spend all their lives having to live in such relationships —if they are lucky to live.\n\n* 1 in 4 women experience severe physical violence, sexual violence, or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime.\n \n* On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the U.S.   \n \n* A study by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights found that 22% of women in Western Europe experienced intimate partner violence in 2020.\n \n\n**Workplace Harassment:** Workplace harassment, particularly sexual harassment and discrimination, continues to be a significant challenge for women in many professional settings. These experiences can range from subtle microaggressions, such as [sexist jokes or comments](https://www.workingal.com/articles/how-to-handle-sexist-people-in-business), to overt acts of harassment, including sexual assault and coercion.\n\nThe impact of workplace harassment affects women's mental health, job satisfaction, and career advancement. Victims may experience anxiety, depression, and **post-traumatic stress disorder**. Moreover, harassment can create a hostile work environment, undermining productivity and morale and kicking women out of the job market, jeopardizing their careers and financial independence. \n\n**Street Harassment:** Street harassment, a pervasive form of **gender-based violence**, involves unwanted and intrusive behaviors directed at individuals in public spaces. For women, this can range from verbal harassment, such as catcalling and lewd comments, to physical harassment, including unwanted touching and groping.\n\nThe impact of street harassment is significant, often leading to feelings of fear, anxiety, and diminished self-esteem. It can restrict women's freedom of movement, forcing them to alter their **daily routines**, avoid specific public spaces, and restrain themselves from walking alone in case someone attacks them. Street harassment creates a climate of intimidation, making women feel unsafe and vulnerable in their communities.\n\nThe Root of the Problem\n-----------------------\n\n![women safety in the western world](https://assets.workingal.com/women_safety_in_the_western_world_4b0bed6a3a.jpg)\n\nThe persistence of violence against women is a deeply rooted issue, influenced by a complex interplay of societal factors. **Gender** inequality, a pervasive force in many cultures, creates power imbalances that can lead to abuse and exploitation. **Patriarchal** norms, which often prioritize male dominance and control, can perpetuate harmful stereotypes and reinforce gender-based discrimination. **Societal** attitudes, shaped by cultural and historical factors, can either condone or challenge violence against women. Misogynistic beliefs, which often view women as inferior or objects of desire, can contribute to a climate of _tolerance for abuse_. Additionally, the [normalization of violence in media](https://www.workingal.com/articles/do-people-love-to-hate-women-online) and popular culture can desensitize individuals to its harmful effects and perpetuate harmful stereotypes. Women are scrutinized heavier than men, and no matter how hard they try to conform to the stereotypes, they will always be victims and vulnerable targets. \n\nBreaking the Silence\n--------------------\n\nTo effectively address the pervasive issue of violence against women, it is imperative to break the silence surrounding this problem. Encouraging open and honest conversations about violence, abuse, and harassment can help to reduce stigma and empower survivors to seek help. By promoting empathy and understanding, we can foster a culture of compassion and support for those who have experienced trauma.\n\nFurthermore, it is essential to challenge harmful **gender stereotypes** that perpetuate gender inequality and contribute to violence. By promoting gender equality and challenging patriarchal norms, we can create a society where all individuals are valued and respected.\n\nStrengthening legal frameworks, improving law enforcement response, and providing comprehensive support services for survivors are crucial steps. Investing in victim support services, such as hotlines, shelters, and counseling, can help survivors heal and rebuild their lives. Additionally, it is essential to hold perpetrators **accountable** by ensuring that laws are effectively enforced and that justice is served.\n\n#### To write this, we consulted:\n\n[https://wbl.worldbank.org/en/safety](https://wbl.worldbank.org/en/safety)\n\n[https://www.marketwatch.com/story/why-the-us-is-one-of-the-most-dangerous-countries-for-women-2018-06-29](https://www.marketwatch.com/story/why-the-us-is-one-of-the-most-dangerous-countries-for-women-2018-06-29)\n\n(https://iwpr.org/harassment-in-the-workplace-why-the-us-and-the-eu-must-act/#:~:text=In the European Union, 18,(68 percent) then men)(https://iwpr.org/harassment-in-the-workplace-why-the-us-and-the-eu-must-act/#:~:text=In the European Union, 18,(68 percent) then men) .","the-illusion-of-safety-are-women-safe-in-the-western-world","women safety, western world safety, are women safe in the west world, domestic abuse in the us, women safety in the us, how safe are women in europe","We usually talk about women's rights in the Eastern world, but how about the Western world? Motherhood, as incredible and desired as it is for many women, can turn into a nightmare for many because of their employment status and career aspirations. \n\nWomen often turn to competent bodies to **demand the obvious**, aka, to have rights at work as working mothers, or rather, to take it from the beginning, not to be laid off when pregnancy comes. Unfortunately, it is common for women to be laid off because of their pregnancy or after the birth of their child. It is also more common to face difficulties in their research for a job, especially when they are in their reproductive years, considering that employers often avoid hiring women for fear of them getting pregnant. \n\nThe _Pregnancy Discrimination Act_, a federal law of 1978, prohibits employment discrimination based on pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions in the US, and the European Union (EU) has several laws that protect pregnant workers and new mothers, including the Pregnant Workers Directive and the Work-life Balance Directive. However, [data shows](https://bipartisanpolicy.org/blog/bpc-morning-consult-pregnancy-discrimination/) that 1 in 5 mothers report experiencing **pregnancy discrimination** in the workplace.   \n\nThe problem is more prevalent in the private sector, even in large multinational corporations, where women are —illegally— required to state before they are hired that they will not become pregnant, or if they do, they will voluntarily resign. Another tactic several businesses use is forcing them to resign as soon as they announce their pregnancy. _In extreme cases, employers still propose abortion as a \"solution.\"_ Scary, right? Social media is full of terrifying stories of women who got pregnant, and they had to face such behaviors, even though the legislation prohibits them.\n\nAlso, a significant number of employers, in order not to break the law and face the legal consequences, find excuses to terminate pregnant women, justifying the termination with poor performance or simply by eliminating their role in the company. A loophole that many employers use and refrains women from claiming their rights.\n\n![pregnancy at work](https://assets.workingal.com/pregnancy_at_work_cb7db8960f.jpg)\n\nCountries worldwide have taken measures to strengthen motherhood, and some laws aim to protect working mothers. However, the problem is not on paper since many irregularities and iniquities happen —_and women can’t always fight back_. One would expect that the problem could be easily solved with an attorney. However, many women are scared of confronting such cases for fear of being targeted for acting in bad faith, hence making it challenging to get another job or because they don’t have the financial means to do so.\n\nGiven the circumstances, the announcement of their pregnancy creates an enormous amount of stress for pregnant women, as they fear that their pregnancy will compromise their career, and given that a baby comes with a lot of extra expenses, they dread not being able to go back to work as soon as they are able. Consequently, pregnancy becomes a source of stress rather than a source of happiness. \n\nAs a result, many women put their family planning on hold for fear of destroying their careers and ending up unemployed. _And who can blame them?_ [Studies](https://www.aauw.org/issues/equity/motherhood/) have shown that on average, mothers earn less than childless women with similar qualifications or they are less likely to be promoted or receive raises. And let’s not forget that there can be unconscious biases against mothers, with assumptions that they are less committed or competent, depriving them of their right to a fulfilling career.\n\nAnd, the truth is that many countries lack sufficient support systems for working parents, such as affordable childcare, flexible work arrangements, and paid parental leave, which makes it even more difficult for mothers to be able to focus on their careers without neglecting their children.\n\n**The Other Side**\n------------------\n\n![pregnancy at work](https://assets.workingal.com/pregnancy_at_work_29066f1435.jpg)\n\nThere is a lot of debate from both sides as to how pregnancy affects both parties —the mother and the employer. Let's look at the arguments of the other side. \n\nEmployers argue that it is financially suffocating to pay someone who is not providing any service for such a long time. Also, in the event that they need to hire someone to cover for the pregnant woman, it will be **challenging** to hire a new person for a specific amount of time and who will probably be terminated after the woman returns to work. And it will still be financially unbearable. At the same time, the woman, who has been away for a long time, would need time to adjust and adapt to work and follow the business's pace, especially when discussing rapidly evolving environments.\n\nI could judge these arguments harshly since they seem ridiculous often, given that we are talking about a legal framework that includes the labor rights of all workers. However, I will leave the possibility that some small businesses may struggle to keep up with such costs. Times are tough, so it’s not easy to blame **small businesses** that don’t have the financial luxury to hire more employees. Anyhow, they undoubtedly have a legal obligation to respond worthily to the needs of a pregnant or working mother and not resort to extreme behaviors. I will, therefore, trace the problem back to the state itself. _Of course, there are laws that support women, but who will support small businesses afterward?_ If we want to be fair, we should look at both sides and understand that they are both in a situation that makes things difficult for them. And the state supports women’s rights, which is of high importance, but doesn’t support small businesses to be able to support those women; and the vicious cycle continues.\n\n***\n\nAll that is happening around women's labor rights is a chain of **problems, mistakes, and mismanagement**, and you don't know which one to solve first. And the same happens for every social problem we come across. However, I am not interested in elaborating on what each government should do but on what we can do. \n\n_And we must not tolerate such behaviors._ It is a woman's right to want to start a family and not have to lose her job or not be able to find one. Women who face ill-treatment by employers due to pregnancy or maternity should report these incidents and claim their rights. _How do we build a healthy society if women raise their children in poor conditions?_ The solutions are there; it's just that employers don’t want to collaborate to solve them. We hope that the state and organizations will continue to support pregnant and working mothers, not only with laws but also with actions.\n\nOn the other hand, we ourselves must not close our eyes to the mistreatment of workers so that it becomes clear that workers, men and women, have rights that must be respected at all costs. Or else, what kind of a democracy are we? It exudes a feeling of wholesomeness and anticipation of the new year. Nevertheless, over the last decades, it has increasingly become synonymous with the stress and materialism of gift-giving. Instead of getting ready to meet our loved ones and enjoy delicious meals with them, we **tend to anticipate the gifts instead of the people.**\n\nNevertheless, we cannot argue that the tradition of exchanging gifts can be a fun way to show appreciation and love, but it can also contribute to a sense of obligation, disappointment, and commercialism that detracts from the true meaning of Christmas.\n\nOne of the primary downsides of gift exchange is the immense pressure it places on individuals to spend money on gifts. Months before the holiday season, we are bombarded with advertisements and marketing campaigns encouraging us to buy more and more and more. New last-minute Christmas deals are on the everyday menu, and we are getting into a panic mode when [adjusting our budget](https://www.workingal.com/articles/be-financially-fit-your-101-guide-ebook) for the Christmas gifts. However, this gift-giving pressure can lead to financial stress and anxiety, especially for those who are struggling to make ends meet.\n\nAnother issue with gift exchange is the potential for **disappointment**. When people receive gifts that they don't want or need, it can lead to feelings of frustration and resentment. This can be particularly harmful to children, who may feel pressured to express gratitude for gifts they don't enjoy. Instead of appreciating the process of gift-giving and the ritual of exchanging gifts around the Christmas tree, we put ourselves in a position of disappointment instead in a position of [gratitude](https://www.workingal.com/articles/the-power-of-being-grateful) that someone was thoughtful enough to gift us something. \n\nGift exchange has fueled a culture of materialism, where the value of a person is measured by the **quantity** and quality of gifts they receive. This consumerist mindset has led to a relentless pursuit of the latest gadgets, the trendiest clothes, and the most **expensive** toys. It has turned Christmas into a competition rather than a celebration of love and compassion.\n\n![consumerism on christmas](https://assets.workingal.com/consumerism_on_christmas_5f01d17e10.jpg)\n\nAlso, let’s consider the environmental impact of gift exchange. The excessive production and consumption of goods contribute to pollution, deforestation, and climate change. The mass packaging waste generated during the holiday season further aggravates the problem.\n\nAs a result of the above, the most significant problem with gift exchange is that it can overshadow the true meaning of Christmas. **The holiday season should be a time to focus on family, friends, and community.** However, when we prioritize gift-giving, we can lose sight of what truly matters and we tend to be completely materialistic.\n\nA More Meaningful Christmas\n---------------------------\nSo, how can we make Christmas more meaningful and recall the essence of the holiday season? In order to recapture the spirit of Christmas, we should think of other more positive ways to **celebrate** the holiday. For example, we could focus on spending quality time with loved ones, volunteering in our communities, or simply enjoying the season's peace and tranquility. Possibly, by shifting our focus away from material possessions and towards meaningful connections, we can rediscover the true joy of Christmas. This means that instead of focusing on **material possessions**, we should prioritize spending quality time with loved ones, volunteering in our communities, and practicing acts of kindness.\n\nGift exchange can be a fun tradition, but it is essential to remember that it is not the only way to celebrate the holiday season. Her daughter, Christabel Pankhurst, was also a prominent [suffragette](https://www.workingal.com/articles/suffragettes-the-movement-that-changed-the-history-of-women), working alongside her mother to challenge existing standards and demand equality. Emmeline Pankhurst's legacy continues to inspire generations of feminists worldwide.\n\nIn 1999, Time magazine recognized her as one of the 100 Most Important People of the 20th Century. Her militant tactics, though controversial at the time, were instrumental in achieving women's suffrage in the United Kingdom. By challenging **societal norms** and political systems, she ignited a movement that would forever change the course of history. \n\nEmmeline Pankhurst's intellectual curiosity was evident from a young age. She devoured books, including the Odyssey and The Pilgrim's Progress, and was deeply inspired by Thomas Carlyle's **The French Revolution**. However, despite her intelligence and passion for learning, she was denied the same educational opportunities as her brothers. Her parents, while supportive of women's rights, adhered to traditional gender roles, expecting their daughters to focus on domestic skills and marriage. Pankhurst's longing for a different life, one filled with intellectual pursuits and social impact, was evident in her father's lament: _\"What a pity she wasn't born a lad.\"_ This early recognition of inequality would fuel her lifelong dedication to women's rights and social justice.\n\n![emmeline pankhurst](https://assets.workingal.com/emmeline_pankhurst_1_11adee29b2.png)\n\nEmmeline Pankhurst's early exposure to the **women's suffrage movement** through her mother's involvement and Lydia Becker's inspiring speeches solidified her commitment to women's rights. Her time at the École Normale de Neuilly in Paris further broadened her worldview and exposed her to the intellectual and political climate of the time. However, her personal life took a disappointing turn when a potential marriage fell through due to her family's financial constraints. This experience, coupled with her growing awareness of **gender inequality**, fueled her determination to fight for women's rights and social justice.\n\nEmmeline Pankhurst's marriage to Richard Marsden Pankhurst, a prominent figure in the legal and political world, further solidified her commitment to women's rights. Together, they worked towards securing **legal rights for women**, including property rights. In 1903, Emmeline founded the [Women's Social and Political Union](https://www.britannica.com/topic/Womens-Social-and-Political-Union) (WSPU), a militant organization dedicated to achieving women's suffrage. The WSPU's aggressive tactics, such as protests, civil disobedience, and hunger strikes, brought unprecedented **attention** to the cause. The arrest of Christabel Pankhurst and Annie Kenney in 1905 marked a turning point, as the WSPU's militant approach gained momentum and sparked a national **debate on women's rights**.\n\nEmmeline Pankhurst, from her base in London, led the WSPU in increasingly aggressive campaigns against the Liberal government, which she viewed as the primary obstacle to women's suffrage. The WSPU disrupted political meetings, interrupted cabinet ministers, and engaged in **civil disobedience**. Pankhurst herself was imprisoned multiple times for her activism, including for inciting people to protest at the House of Commons. Despite a brief truce in 1910, the WSPU resumed its militant tactics when the government failed to pass a bill supporting women's suffrage.\n\nThe WSPU's tactics escalated to extreme levels of militancy in 1912, with acts of arson orchestrated by Christabel Pankhurst from exile in Paris. Emmeline Pankhurst herself endured multiple imprisonments and hunger strikes, leading to her release and rearrest under the [\"Cat and Mouse Act.\"](https://www.parliament.uk/about/living-heritage/transformingsociety/electionsvoting/womenvote/case-study-the-right-to-vote/the-right-to-vote/winson-green-forcefeeding/cat-and-mouse-act/) However, with the onset of World War I in 1914, the WSPU temporarily suspended its campaign to focus on national unity. The government responded by releasing all imprisoned suffragettes.\n\nFollowing World War I, Emmeline Pankhurst continued her **activism**, touring the United States, Canada, and Russia to advocate for women's involvement in industrial mobilization. After the war, she spent several years living abroad. In 1926, she returned to England and ran for a seat in the British Parliament as a Conservative candidate. Unfortunately, her health declined before she could be elected. Just weeks after her death, the Representation of the People Act of 1928 was passed, granting **voting equality** to women. Emmeline Pankhurst's autobiography, [\"My Own Story,](https://www.amazon.com/My-Own-Story-Emmeline-Pankhurst/dp/0313249261)\" published in 1914, provides valuable insights into her life and the struggle for women's suffrage.\n\n![emmeline pankhurst](https://assets.workingal.com/emmeline_pankhurst2_3_da719c81b8.webp)\n\nEmmeline Pankhurst was a pivotal figure in the British women's suffrage movement, significantly shaping the **feminist movement** as a whole. Her militant tactics, such as marches, protests, and civil disobedience, brought unprecedented public attention to the cause. She defied societal norms, challenged the political establishment, and inspired women to **demand** their rights. Pankhurst's relentless determination and willingness to sacrifice for her beliefs have become a symbol of **feminist courage** and resilience. Her legacy continues to inspire feminists worldwide, reminding us of the power of activism and the importance of fighting for equality.\n\n## Some of her most prevalent quotes are\n\n### - I would rather be a rebel than a slave\n### - We have to free half of the human race, the women so that they can help to free the other half\n### - We are here, not because we are law-breakers; we are here in our efforts to become law-makers\n### - Deeds, not words\n### - Trust in God – she will provide\n### - Justice and judgment lie often a world apart\n### - Women had always fought for men, and for their children. Now they were ready to fight for their own human rights\n### - What is the use of fighting for a vote if we have not got a country to vote in?\n### - Government does not rest upon force at all; it rests upon consent.","emmeline-pankhurst-a-champion-of-women-s-suffrage","all about emmeline pankhurst, emmeline pankhurst, emmeline pankhurst suffragette, emily pankhurst biography, pankhurst suffragette, ","Emmeline Pankhurst is a formidable figure in the fight for women's rights whose legacy still inspires feminists worldwide.","2024-11-05","2024-11-05T01:35:51.298Z","2024-11-05T01:43:53.015Z","2024-11-05T01:43:53.013Z",{"id":571,"documentId":572,"name":573,"alternativeText":574,"caption":574,"focalPoint":62,"width":109,"height":110,"formats":575,"hash":604,"ext":113,"mime":117,"size":605,"url":606,"previewUrl":62,"provider":78,"provider_metadata":62,"createdAt":607,"updatedAt":607,"publishedAt":608},199,"j2xyvtirb2n5a4lh4jw5zatu","emmeline pankhurst-d5088a1efa04b2d0a8823e472466d81b1adac991e0ec3416b48f11d8f47df3ad.webp","emmeline pankhurst",{"large":576,"small":583,"medium":590,"thumbnail":597},{"ext":113,"url":577,"etag":578,"hash":579,"mime":117,"name":580,"path":62,"size":581,"width":120,"height":121,"sizeInBytes":582},"https://assets.workingal.com/large_emmeline_pankhurst_d5088a1efa04b2d0a8823e472466d81b1adac991e0ec3416b48f11d8f47df3ad.webp","8068ec19b6f8974b3430860021e6f0f9","large_emmeline_pankhurst_d5088a1efa04b2d0a8823e472466d81b1adac991e0ec3416b48f11d8f47df3ad","large_emmeline pankhurst-d5088a1efa04b2d0a8823e472466d81b1adac991e0ec3416b48f11d8f47df3ad.webp",31.15,31146,{"ext":113,"url":584,"etag":585,"hash":586,"mime":117,"name":587,"path":62,"size":588,"width":129,"height":130,"sizeInBytes":589},"https://assets.workingal.com/small_emmeline_pankhurst_d5088a1efa04b2d0a8823e472466d81b1adac991e0ec3416b48f11d8f47df3ad.webp","7c7cad185cc7e7982ae3ad47fae8e35e","small_emmeline_pankhurst_d5088a1efa04b2d0a8823e472466d81b1adac991e0ec3416b48f11d8f47df3ad","small_emmeline pankhurst-d5088a1efa04b2d0a8823e472466d81b1adac991e0ec3416b48f11d8f47df3ad.webp",15.02,15022,{"ext":113,"url":591,"etag":592,"hash":593,"mime":117,"name":594,"path":62,"size":595,"width":138,"height":139,"sizeInBytes":596},"https://assets.workingal.com/medium_emmeline_pankhurst_d5088a1efa04b2d0a8823e472466d81b1adac991e0ec3416b48f11d8f47df3ad.webp","02bc81ddb3a798539678b16c3cc21999","medium_emmeline_pankhurst_d5088a1efa04b2d0a8823e472466d81b1adac991e0ec3416b48f11d8f47df3ad","medium_emmeline pankhurst-d5088a1efa04b2d0a8823e472466d81b1adac991e0ec3416b48f11d8f47df3ad.webp",22.76,22756,{"ext":113,"url":598,"etag":599,"hash":600,"mime":117,"name":601,"path":62,"size":602,"width":147,"height":148,"sizeInBytes":603},"https://assets.workingal.com/thumbnail_emmeline_pankhurst_d5088a1efa04b2d0a8823e472466d81b1adac991e0ec3416b48f11d8f47df3ad.webp","56556116c367873783bb7e30e18db133","thumbnail_emmeline_pankhurst_d5088a1efa04b2d0a8823e472466d81b1adac991e0ec3416b48f11d8f47df3ad","thumbnail_emmeline pankhurst-d5088a1efa04b2d0a8823e472466d81b1adac991e0ec3416b48f11d8f47df3ad.webp",7.12,7124,"emmeline_pankhurst_d5088a1efa04b2d0a8823e472466d81b1adac991e0ec3416b48f11d8f47df3ad",50.61,"https://assets.workingal.com/emmeline_pankhurst_d5088a1efa04b2d0a8823e472466d81b1adac991e0ec3416b48f11d8f47df3ad.webp","2026-09-06T10:34:17.347Z","2026-09-06T10:34:17.348Z",{"id":6,"documentId":7,"name":8,"slug":9,"createdAt":385,"updatedAt":385,"publishedAt":386},{"id":11,"documentId":48,"name":49,"slug":50,"instagram":51,"facebook":52,"bio":53,"linkedIn":54,"createdAt":55,"updatedAt":55,"publishedAt":56,"avatar":611},{"id":58,"documentId":59,"name":60,"alternativeText":61,"caption":61,"focalPoint":62,"width":63,"height":63,"formats":612,"hash":75,"ext":66,"mime":70,"size":76,"url":77,"previewUrl":62,"provider":78,"provider_metadata":62,"createdAt":79,"updatedAt":79,"publishedAt":79},{"thumbnail":613},{"ext":66,"url":67,"etag":68,"hash":69,"mime":70,"name":71,"path":62,"size":72,"width":73,"height":73,"sizeInBytes":74},{"pagination":615},{"start":616,"limit":617,"total":618},18,9,53,1788762749192]
